VAIL VALLEY BRACES FOR THE RETURN OF JEROME…GNOME OF THE DANCE AS VAIL INTERNATIONAL DANCE FESTIVAL AND KZYR UNLEASH TUTU-CLAD GARDEN ART TO ONCE AGAIN BESTOW TICKETS AND DINNERS ON LUCKY WINNERS VAIL, Colorado—He’s tanned, rested and ready to once again spring into the international spotlight. No, not Al Gore--Jerome…Gnome of the Dance has returned to the Vail Valley for his annual visit as the Vail International Dance Festival and KZYR unleash the pink tutu-clad icon of garden art for a romp through the valley that will result in Dance Festival tickets and dinners for two for a pair of lucky winners. Jerome will be paying visits to a pair of Vail Valley businesses, beginning Tuesday, July 31. However, as gnomes are inherently shy, contest participants will need to search high and low to uncover his daily nap location. To aid prospective Sherlock Gnomes in this covert operation, KZYR will provide clues to Jerome’s whereabouts each morning, between 8 a.m. and noon. The first person to piece the puzzle together, discover the elusive gnome’s hiding place and ask the proprietor to produce Jerome will win two reserved seats for a designated Vail International Dance Festival performance, along with a $100 dinner gift certificate from Terra Bistro. The Festival performances will include Modern Masters, featuring Pacific Northwest Ballet on August 1, and An Evening with Savion Glover on August 6. Both performances are at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater. “While I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in the valley last summer,” offered Jerome, “I didn’t get much rest as it seemed that someone was demanding to see me just as I got comfortable in my hiding spot. I look forward to once again showcasing my talents along with some of the best dancers in the world as Gnome dancing continues to be on the cutting edge of the art form. I applaud the Vail International Dance Festival for recognizing this and inviting me back this summer.” The 2007 Vail International Dance Festival is scheduled from July 29 through August 12 with performances at both the Ford Amphitheater and the Vilar Center for the Arts in Beaver Creek. Tickets for the 2007 Vail International Dance Festival are available online at www.vaildance.org or by calling (970) 845-TIXS (8497) or 1-888-920-ARTS (2787).
