ABOUT UPCLOSE: WENDY WHELAN, DANCER AND MUSE:
Artistic Director Damian Woetzel has invited Christopher Wheeldon and Morphoses to join him in saluting Wendy Whelan in an evening dedicated to celebrating her continuing brilliant career and the roles created for her. Since 1985 Whelan has been thrilling audiences at home in New York and worldwide, including many spectacular performances in Vail. This UpClose will feature Whelan and the stellar dancers of Morphoses dancing ballets from her varied and unique repertory of Balanchine and Robbins masterpieces, as well roles made for her by Christopher Wheeldon and other choreographers of today. Hosted by Damian Woetzel and Christopher Wheeldon.
